Krypton Adds Game of Thrones Actor to the Cast

It’s a grand age for DC fans. As the modern DCEU races to catch up with Marvel, more and more on-screen adaptations of DC titles are being unveiled every day. From TV shows like The Flash  and Supergirl  to upcoming films like Wonder Woman  and Justice League, it’s exciting to watch the world of DC Comics come to life on screen. With titles like Batman and Green Arrow spawning successful TV show universes, it almost feels like no DC gold has yet gone untapped — almost.

DC fans are having the time of their lives right now with movies based on DC superheroes coming out and Batman and Green Arrow having their own TV universes.Well, a new show is being added to the cast of DC shows on TV.

As some of you might know, two years ago  Syfy announced, Krypton, a TV series that will focus on the planet where Superman came from. The latest news is the pilot episode is about to begin filming. The show just cast a veteran actor Ian McElhinney, Barristan Selmy of Game of Thrones.

McElhinney will be playing the role of Seg-El’s grandfather, Val-El. Deadline  reports that Val-El will be “a rogue genius who believes that space exploration is a basic form of self-defense…he has tried, without success, to warn the Kryptonian elite about the arrival of an ancient threat.” The other new members of the cast includes Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons) as Daron Vex, Chief Magistrate of Kandor; Ann Ogbomo (World War Z) as Primus Alura Zod, a military commander and Lyta Zod’s mother; Rasmus Hardiker (Your Highness) as Kem, Seg-El’s best friend; Wallis Day (The Royals) as Nessa Vex, Daron’s daughter; and Aaron Pierre (Tennison) as military cadet Dev-Em.
