YA (young adult) movies saw a lot of success with the likes of The Hunger Games series and Divergent, however, lately they are not doing so well. As an example, the last movie of the Divergent series, Allegiant did not do well at the box office and had many negative reviews. This resulted in Lionsgate to market the next movie of the series to TV studios in an effort to transition the series to the small screen. They might be carrying on with one of their other, former successfull franchises though and it is one that might create a huge buzz.
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-chairman Patrick Wachsberger talked about The Twilight Saga, in an interview lately. He stated that the studio might be doing more movies within the series if Meyer wants to revisit the story of Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart). Here is his exact words on the vampire love story which was pretty damn successfull in its day:
“It’s a possibility. Not a certainty but it’s a possibility. It’s about Stephenie [Meyer]. If she wants to tell a story related to those characters we’re here for her.”
