It has been a while since rumors started about a TV series by the hand of David O Russell, writer/director whom you might remember from Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and Joy. Important names like Julianne Moore and Robert De Niro were mentioned in relation to the project and very few details were revealed at that time. Rumors suggested it was a crime thriller TV show that takes place in 1990s and the show was being shopped for streaming services and cable networks alike.

It turns out the series just found its home at Amazon and both De Niro and Moore were confirmed as lead stars for the series. The Weinstein Company will be producing it.

Deadline reports that the series to be about mafia and the crime world and Russell will be writing and directing all episodes. Scott Lambert, Alexandra Milchan and  Megan Ellison will act as producers. It is also said in the report that a two-season commitment were made for the project that is worth $160 million and each season will be comprised of eight episodes. With naems like De Niro and Moore, this is destined to be a hit.
