Westworld News: George R.R. Martin Proposed a Westeros Theme Park

HBO’s new TV series, Westworld is the new best thing nowadays. If you have not watched it, please do as it is a magnificent piece of sci-fi intertwined with drama elements. The series is based on Michael Crichton’s novel with the same name.

In the TV series, visitors are allowed to interact with humanoid robots of the theme park in any way they want and live their fantasies. The first season of the series takes places in a western setting where the visitors get to play the cowboy or a villain.

What juıst made things more interesting is that A Song of Ice & Fire writer, George R.R. Martin is reported to have pitched the idea of creating a Westeros theme park to be featured in Westworld.

This proposal would involve Game of Thrones characters as androids and visitors visiting them taking part actively in the action that happens within Westeros. It is another idea that sometimes these characters would be allowed to accidentally slip into the adjacent western theme park. Jonathan Nolan, Westworld co-showrunner made the following statement about the subject:

“We love George and our daughter’s first trip anywhere in the world was out to Santa Fe for a screening of The Prestige at his theater, the Jean Cocteau. He’s a lovely guy and a stunning writer and it’s flattering he would encourage a crossover. We should be so lucky.”
