If you are into gaming there is a pretty good chance you know about the puzzle game by Valve Corporation named Portal.
It turns out Portal might get a movie and it might be very soon, indeed. The official announcement is just a matter of time.
IGN reports that J.J. Abrams was asked at the world premiere of Westworld about the movies for Portal and Half-Life and he answered stating that these two projects are “still very much in development” but Portal announcement may come “fairly soon.” Abrams explained made the following statements about the scripts of the movies:
“We are having some really interesting discussions with writers, many of whom…once you said you’re doing a movie or show about a specific thing that is a known quantity you start to find people who are rabid about these things. As someone who loves playing Half Life and Portal, what’s the movie of this, it’s incredible when you talk to someone who just ‘gets’ it, it’s like, oh my god, it’s really the seed for this incredible tree you’re growing.”
Both Portal and Half Life will be interesting movies to watch, especially by the hand of a sci-fi master like J.J. Abrams.
