Longmire to End with Season 6

Netflix is a real life saver when it comes to decent shows suffering from lack of ratings for some very diverse number of reasons. One of those shows was Longmire a modern day Western drama in which Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff starred.

The show was canceled after its third season by A&E and then the best thing happened. Netflix grabbed it and revived it for a 4th season. The fourth season did well ending up Netflix bringing back for another season.

There were no news for a long time about the show’s renewal for a sixth season although it is very abnormal for Netflix to leave shows hanging out to die off like that. This created some concern among the fans, however, it turns out this silence resulted from creative reasons. The show’s producers have been preparing for the script to end Longmire in the sixth season which would be its last.

Netflix just announced that the show was renewed for the 6th season and it would be the last season of Longmire. Executive producers Greer Shephard, Hunt Baldwin and John Coveny made the following statement about the show:

“We are grateful to Netflix for the opportunity to compose a closing chapter for these beloved characters that inspires lasting memories. Most importantly, we’re committed to delivering a dynamic and satisfying conclusion to our fans that rewards their longtime loyalty.”
